NOROVIEW vs Sierra Chart: Numbers Bars, Packages and Data Fees

NOROVIEW vs Sierra Chart compared: which service package unlocks Numbers Bars and market depth, what the Denali feed and exchange fees add, and when a browser platform is the better answer.

NOROVIEW vs Sierra Chart: Numbers Bars, Packages and Data Fees

Sierra Chart is the platform serious futures traders keep going back to: fast, stable, endlessly configurable, and cheap for what it does. It is also the platform people bounce off hardest, because you must first work out which service package you need, then which data feed, then pay exchange fees on top. NOROVIEW is the opposite trade: far less configurable, one price, and it opens in a browser tab.

Disclosure. We build NOROVIEW, so read this the way you would read any vendor's comparison page. What we can offer instead of neutrality is checkable numbers: every competitor figure below was taken from that vendor's own pricing page on 13 August 2026, not from a review site — the review sites disagreed with the vendors on nearly every number we checked. Where a competitor is better, it says so. If anything here is out of date, tell us and we will correct it.

The short version

Choose Sierra Chart if you want a professional futures workstation and you are willing to configure it. Nothing here beats it on performance, chart-engine flexibility, custom studies or the sheer depth of what you can bend it into — and the software itself is inexpensive for the capability.

Choose NOROVIEW if you want order flow on screen this afternoon without choosing a package, a data feed and an exchange subscription first — or you are not on a machine you can install a trading platform on.

Sierra Chart's packages, and which one you actually need

This is the part that costs newcomers an evening. Sierra Chart sells service packages, and the order flow tools are not in the cheapest one.

Service package Price
3 — Base Standard 26 USD/month
5 — Base Advanced 36 USD/month
10 — Integrated Standard 36 USD/month
11 — Integrated Advanced 46 USD/month
12 — Integrated Advanced MBO 56 USD/month

Numbers Bars — Sierra Chart's footprint chart — and the Market Depth Historical Graph require Package 5 or an Integrated package (10, 11 or 12). Package 3 at $26 will not show you a footprint chart.

Then there is data. The Denali exchange feed requires packages 10–12, and Sierra Chart's own documentation states there is an additional cost for exchange fees for real-time data. So a realistic CME order flow setup is a $36–56 package plus a data feed plus CME exchange fees — the last of which is set by the exchange, not by Sierra Chart, and applies on any platform that carries live CME data.

NOROVIEW's equivalent is $19/month, with the CME data included and no package decision to make. That simplicity is bought with far less configurability — see below.

Where Sierra Chart is stronger

Performance. It is a native application written for speed, and on a fast tape it shows. We do a great deal server-side to keep a browser viable, and on the most violent moves a native client has an architectural advantage.

Configurability. Custom studies in C++, ACSIL, spreadsheet studies, an enormous settings surface. If you want to build your own tooling, this is where you do it. NOROVIEW has no scripting language at all.

Execution and broker support. Sierra Chart is a full trading platform with order routing to many brokers. We do not execute.

Historical data and replay. Deep, and a first-class part of the product.

Price for capability. $36/month for Package 5 is inexpensive for what you get, and Sierra Chart's reputation for not gouging its users is deserved.

Longevity. It has been around a very long time and will outlast most of the category.

Where NOROVIEW is stronger

Time to first chart. Sign in, pick a symbol, see a footprint. No package matrix, no data-feed selection, no install.

One bill. $19/month covers the platform and real-time CME data. You will not be reconciling a package fee, a feed fee and an exchange fee.

Any device. Sierra Chart is a desktop application. NOROVIEW runs in a browser, including on a Mac, an iPad or a locked-down work laptop.

Interface. Sierra Chart's is famously utilitarian. Ours is a modern web interface, and for a lot of traders that alone decides it.

Crypto is first-class. Real-time Binance order flow is on the free plan. Sierra Chart's centre of gravity is futures.

What real-time US futures order flow actually costs

Software price is the number vendors advertise. For CME order flow it is rarely the number you pay, because on several platforms the market data is a separate line item. This is the comparison that matters, all-in:

Platform Software Real-time futures data All-in / month Runs in
NOROVIEW Basic $19 Included $19 Browser
Exocharts Desktop Pro $49 dxFeed included $49 + VAT Desktop
Bookmap Global $49 + $34 BookmapData $83 Desktop
ATAS PRO €69.95 Included in PRO €69.95 + VAT Desktop
Quantower $70 Purchased separately $70+ Desktop
Sierra Chart $36–$56 Denali + exchange fees $36+ and up Desktop
TradingView Plus+ Plan price CME add-on, extra Plan + add-on Browser

Two things are worth saying plainly about that table. Bookmap's advertised $49 is not the price of futures order flow — BookmapData futures is $34/mo on top, so the real figure is $83. And NOROVIEW and TradingView are the only two that run in a browser, but TradingView bills CME real-time data as a separate add-on. That is the whole argument for NOROVIEW in one row.

Where NOROVIEW is the wrong choice

NOROVIEW covers Binance only for crypto — Exocharts reaches five exchanges and Bookmap more than twenty. It is analysis only: no execution, no broker routing, so you trade through your own broker or exchange. Historical tick depth and replay do not go as deep as Exocharts' six years. And futures data on the free plan is last-closed-session history rather than a live feed — real-time CME starts at $19.

Against Sierra Chart specifically: if you write your own studies, need order routing, or want the fastest possible rendering of a fast tape, use Sierra Chart. We have no scripting language, no execution, and a browser between you and the data.

Frequently asked questions

Which Sierra Chart package do I need for footprint charts?
Numbers Bars require Service Package 5 (Base Advanced, 36 USD/month) or one of the Integrated packages — 10, 11 or 12. Package 3 at 26 USD/month does not include them.

Does Sierra Chart charge extra for data?
Yes for real-time exchange data. The Denali feed requires packages 10–12 and Sierra Chart's documentation notes an additional cost for exchange fees for real-time data. CME exchange fees themselves are set by the exchange and apply on any platform.

Is there a browser-based Sierra Chart alternative?
NOROVIEW is the closest for order flow specifically — footprint charts, Level 2 depth, liquidity heatmap and real-time CME futures from $19/month, all in a browser tab. It is not a substitute for Sierra Chart's scripting or order routing.

Is Sierra Chart cheaper than NOROVIEW?
The software can be: Package 3 is $26/month, though it lacks footprint charts. Once you add Package 5 or higher plus a real-time CME feed plus exchange fees, NOROVIEW's $19 all-in is usually the lower number. Compare total cost, not package price.

Can I run Sierra Chart on a Mac?
It is a native desktop application — check their current system requirements. If you are asking because you are on a Mac, that is the main reason browser-based platforms come up in this comparison at all.
